Barista & Café Associate

What you’ll do & what we’re looking for:

- Prepare coffee, tea and other café beverages

- Prepare simple café food such as sandwiches, toasties and snacks

- Take orders and handle billing/POS

- Interact comfortably and confidently with customers

- Help customers with queries about our library and memberships

- Keep the café counter and work area clean and organised

- Manage basic stock and inform us when supplies need replenishing

- Help with workshops, events and community activities when required

- Be fluent in spoken English and comfortable communicating with customers

- Be friendly, dependable, punctual and responsible

- Be willing to learn and take on new responsibilities

- Be able to work under pressure on busy days and during events

- Be comfortable working Tuesday to Sunday; Monday will be the weekly day off

- An interest in books, cafés and community spaces is a plus
